Hank Williams III

The American musician, Shelton Hank Williams was born on December 12, 1972. The grandson of Hank Williams, Sr. and the son of Hank Williams Jr, he passed much of his early years playing drums in punk rock bands. He belonged to a royal music family before he ever thought of a musical career. But he didn't directly follow his forebears musically, instead opted to rock around the Southeast, performing drums in punk and hardcore combos and smoking exceeding amounts of weed. >> More alt

About Hank Williams III

In 1996, child support payments led Hank III to get collaborated with Nashville, Tennessee giant Curb Records. Three Hanks: Men With Broken Hearts was released shortly thereafter, which featured the voices of all three generations of Williams talents together. While this appeared to be a good start, it was rather dissimilar from what Hank III himself hoped to do musically. Despite having brought up in Nashville, Tennessee, Hank III has never had an orientation for mainstream Country.

While his name and his unearthly vocal and physical likenesses to his grandfather could have assured him a flourishing Country audience, he had no patience for the much foreseeable Nashville sound, nor for even the minimum restraints on behavior his promoters needed. His feelings on this issue are well summarized up in the songs "Trashville" and "Dick in Dixie."

His debut album all of his own, titled Risin' Outlaw, was released in September 1999. Subsequently Lovesick, Broke and Driftin' was released in 2002. He had a lot of trouble with his recording label. Reportedly the label was disinclined to release his suitably named This Ain't Country LP, nor allow him Hank III to issue it alone.

In late 2004, Thrown Out of the Bar was intended for release but Curb preferred not to release it. Hank III and label administrator Mike Curb was all the time in court for the next year, and the judge took a decision in favor of Hank III in the spring of 2005.And thus Curb released the album. Shortly thereafter, Hank III and Curb came together, and Hank III dropped down his "Fuck Curb" campaign.

Conflicts with Wal-Mart had detained the release of his third studio album, titled Straight To Hell, which was produced on February 28, 2006 as a two-disc set in two arrangements, a clean version and an uncensored version, which proved to be the first major-label Country album to accept a parental advisory warning. Presently, Hank III is traveling in support of Straight To Hell, and has been noticed claiming, that a rock record will eventually see the fortunate years in less than a year, followed by a new country album.
