Hand Honey began playing together while they were in middle school. The drummer used to listen to radio constantly as a child. Hand Honey began playing at Artist, a local dive bar. The band used to practice at the lead singer's garage.

Hand Honey continued to work hard, scared they would just be another one hit wonder. The band is constantly touring now, rarely taking a week or night off.
accepted that they had made it after the band’s first fan club was started by Patricia Storjohann in 1990. The club started out in Louisville with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
After this last busy year the members of Hand Honey will spend some time apart to work on individual projects. The band may have just finished their newest record, but they are already planning the next release.
