George Thorogood, who was born on February 24, 1950, is a superb rock music performer. His musical talent can be traced in his early days of his celebrated music career. He came to the forefront of music industry with the release of his debut album “George Thorogood & The Destroyers”. This album was released in 1976 and it was an instant hit. This album, as the name suggests, is a joint venture by Thorogood and the band “The Destroyers”. The current members of this band are: Buddy Leach (on Saxophone), Jim Suhler (on Rhythm Guitar), Billy Blough (on Bass Guitar), Jeff Simon (on Drums) etc. This band is often termed as “GT” or “The Delaware Destroyers”.

Inspired by the outstanding success of the debut album, Thorogood released his next album under the title of “Move It On Over” in 1978. This album gained huge popularity and several copies of this album were sold . This album hosted some memorable singles are some of them are: “Please Set a Date” and the title track “Move It On Over”. Before pursuing his career as a singer, Thorogood had spent some days in baseball field. He had participated in the “Roberto Clemete League” but it was his penchant for music, which forced him to concentrate his career in the music industry.
Thorogood and the band “The Destroyers” had retained a good relationship with the Nighthawks and Jimmy Thackery. They had performed in several places and had toured extensively in various parts of the country. This extensive tour helped them to come in close contact with thousands of audiences. This increased their fan base and it also helped them to attain the status of celebrities. Thorogood released his third album titled “Better Than The Rest” in 1979 and it got decent response from the market.
Thorogood and the band “The Destroyer” packed their bags once again for an extensive tour, which started in 1981. They had performed in various places in United States, from Colorado to Boulder. Whenever they had gone, they were received with huge fanfare and enthusiasm. They have performed in fifty nights and this marathon tour helped them to hog the limelight of media attention. When they put an end to this tour, they had already become the icons of music industry. When this excitement stopped, Thorogood released the album named “Bad to the Bone” in 1982. Some of the singles of this album were quite memorable and they were frequently broadcasted in popular TV channels.
This album was followed by three albums “Maverick”, “Nadine”, “Born To Be Bad” and they were released in the year 1985, 1986 and 1987 respectively.
