About Flyleaf

It all started with Lacey Mosley and James Culpepper coming together to play different music. Guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya to play the guitar joined the group. Both Sameer and Jared experiments with different melodies and pedals. Pat Seals joined the team to play the bass along with James Culpepper on the drums. All the five members of the band had their own influences which they blended well with open heart. This led to a unique creation of music which went well with the masses. Flyleaf released three EPs and also performed over 100 shows all over Texas for two years as passerby. It was Runt Entertainment who signed the band for its promotion.

In 2004, Passerby signed with Octone Record which the company informed on their website on January, 2004. In March of the same year, Flyleaf recorded their own EP along with Rick Parasher and toured extensively for promoting their self-titled EP. The EP was released in October of the same year. The first single along with its video of the track Breathe Today was released at the same time.

The first album of the band was recorded full length in 2005 along with Howard Benson. It was released in October, 2005 with the name Flyleaf. The mainstream tracks from the album were "I'm So Sick”,” All Around Me" and "Fully Alive". In 2006, Flyleaf performed on stage of the Family Values Tour in 2006. An exclusive EP called Music As A Weapon was released by the band during the tour which was widely snapped up. An acoustic version of Fully Alive along with three tracks could be found on the EP. These three tracks were "Much Like Falling", "Christmas Song" and “Justice And Mercy”. The band donated a part of the proceeds to World Vision. In the meantime Flyleaf switched to J Records as a result of a deal with the Record companies.

In 2007, Flyleaf went for an extensive tour of Australia, with Justice & Mercy Tour in the spring. The tour saw along with the band, Skillet and Dropping Daylight performing with them. The second half of their tour saw performances by Sick Puppies, Kill Hannah and Resident Hero. Later on, Flyleaf again went for the Family Values Tour. Flyleaf released a digital EP on October 2007 that was called Much Like Falling. This EP has the track "Much Like Falling” that is an acoustic edition of Supernatural". Also to be found in the EP are the songs "Tina" and "Justice and Mercy". Both the EP and the expanded form of their first album can be found on iTunes.
