Flogging Molly’s Irish punk sound mixes the style of acts like The Pogues, The Dubliners, The Clash, and Johnny Cash. Tickets to their concerts are sure to be a good time as the group drifts from punk rock to somber tunes throughout the set and cover everything from Ireland to drinking to the Roman Catholic Church. Originally, Flogging Molly was nameless and just a collection of four musicians between gigs. Two left as their other band received a record deal, leaving lead singer Dave King and fiddle player Bridget Regan with a new sound and several open spots on stage.

King and Regan managed to get Dennis Casey on guitar, Matt Hensley on accordion and concertina, Nathan Maxwell on bass, Bob Schmidt on the mandolin and the banjo, and George Schwindt on drums. Now with a complete lineup, the group started playing Monday nights in Los Angeles in 1997 at Molly Malone’s. In honor of the bar that housed them as they developed, the band named themselves Flogging Molly.
Flogging Molly’s Irish punk music has toured the country a few times, with the Warped Tour, Larry Kirwan’s American Fleadh Festival, and in the Rock Against Bush project. Tickets to Warped Tour always sold well and gave the group terrific exposure. Their albums have never achieved unquestioned success, but they have reached a strong core audience that appreciates Flogging Molly’s music and is sure to purchase tickets whenever they are in town.
Flogging Molly is not done touring in 2008. They may have just finished their spring tour, but they are already preparing for a fall tour that will start in Portland, Maine on September 12 and run until October 24 in Las Vegas. Before then they will play festivals throughout Europe and the United States.
The Ticket Specialists will have tickets to all of Flogging Molly’s shows and all of them will be at great prices. Checkout the schedule on our site for the show near you and celebrate your summer with an Irish punk rock bash.
