Every summer, Fall Festival of Choirs is one Ann Arbor’s best festivals. The tour was started in 1975 after the city decided it needed a big act to bring tourists in to jump start the local economy. It took some time, but eventually word spread and Fall Festival of Choirs began to establish itself as a premier event The festival began to get some more established acts to perform, but still included the smaller that had been with the tour since the beginning. Hotel rooms in the city were soon being filled months in advance for the dates surrounding Fall Festival of Choirs.
Fall Festival of Choirs is now one of the hottest events of the year, with tickets generally lasting only a couple of hours after being released to the public. The festival is popular enough so that the organizers can just about any group to play. The organizers also respect the link to the community and are sure to ask several local bands to play the smaller stages. Fall Festival of Choirs used to be concerned with getting enough acts to fill out the bill, but now is starting to worry of the event is getting too big.
