Elbow was discovered after their single was heard on X102.1. The group's members all had odd jobs while they waited for their time to come. Elbow’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold.
Elbow finally knew they made it in 1982, as soon as Lisa Abbott started the group’s first fan club. After playing all across the country, the group’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Shelbyville to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Elbow will take a break after the tour, to allow the group members to work on side projects. The band just completed their new release, but they are plotting their next move already. The new album is 's first record since the band broke up nine years ago.
