After snapping the relationship with the previous band, Betts and Duane Allman formed this new rock band to ventilate their own feelings through their own musical composition. In a joint collaboration, they released some singles and among them: “Blue Sky” and “In memory Of Elizabeth Reed” became quite popular among the audiences. The sudden demise of Duane Allman in the year 1971 forced Betts to lead this band from the forefront and subsequently Betts became the leading figure of this band. After the sudden demise of Allman, he released some marvelous classics. “Ramblin Man” grab immense commercial success and “Jessica” was another outstanding composition by Betts.
After getting some initial commercial success, Betts released some solo albums for consolidating his position in the music industry. After that Betts released his next album under the title of Dickey Betts & Great Southern in the year 1977. Some of the singles of this album became very famous but the single “Bougainvillea” deserves a special mention. When the band “The Allman Brothers” revived, it came up with a new album “Enlightened Rogues” which was released in the year 1979. After severing his relationship with this band, Betts formed a new rock band under the title of “Dickey Betts Band” in the year 2000 and began touring in several places. This extensive tour helped Dickey Betts to retain a conspicuous position in the music industry. Betts released a DVD under the title “Live from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in the year 2005.
