Dashboard Confessional were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. The band really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly for fans. got K99.5 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the band. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Dashboard Confessional knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true as soon as Sarah Lordi started a fan club for the band in 1988. Starting out in Houston with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand across the world in under a year.
