Dan the Automator Nakamura or Daniel Nakamura was a Japanese American who as a child got lessons of violin but was interested in hip-hop. He was born and brought up in San Francisco. He left his work of DJ, laboured for production of music and performed on small shows till he started working with Kool Keith. His works stands out from the crowd of a considerable part of unworthy work during 1970 to 1980 and also from the low quality television programmes. His music led to use classical element with tones and indications of science and fiction and later to hip hop. Works of Jedi Mind Tricks and RZA are also found in them with the cooperation of Dan the Automator.

Dr.Octagon project of Kool Keith, Gorillaz are some of his popular works. Deltron 3030 and Handsome Boy Modeling School are some works, which popularized him in the underground group. He is known to the world as most innovative maker of rap music.
In 1996 with Dr.Octagon released under the Bulk Recordings label earned him opening significance and market success. Number of good recordings and remixes made him a producer lyricist and remixer. Glue Factory the studio of Dan worked as the recording place for DJ Shadow of MO’Wax and many other performers on Solesides label. Now he thought of working with performers like DJ Krush, Primal Scream, Cibo Matto, Stereolab, The Eels, Cornershop, Mike Simpson, Dust Brothers, The John Spencer Blues Explosion and many others. Dan’s association with rap legend Prince Paul earned him a lot of success with their first album Gorillaz in 2001with Handsome Boy Modeling School album in Atlanta records. One of its albums released under Tommy Boy became popular in underground on its release. Gorillaz made him introduced to a huge number of audiences. It was popular internationally and hade his first significant hit solo “ Clint Eastwood” characterizing Del the Funkee Homosapian.
He was the joint lyricist of Get Your Way sung by Jamie Cullum. In 2002 he teamed up with the vocalists Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles for Lovage. This lined a great number of remixes like the Air, Zero 7, Tortoise and more. Dan started working for solos which goes from Blink 182 to Sarah McLachlan. He also gave lyrics for Mos Def, Beck, Beanie Man, and Busta rhymes. Association with Alex Kapronos, RZA, Mars, Pharrell, Linkin Park, Casual and Cat Power led to the Handsome Boy Modelling School album’s second part
NBA2k7 characterized Mos Def, Ghost Face, E-40, Lupe Fiasco, Fabulous, A Trinbe Called Quest, Rhymefest and some others. The audio track of this was released on September 2006.He also produced albums like ACME and Damage for Blues Explosion, When I Was Born For The 7th Time and Little Barrie’ s Stand Your Ground. He also has made tracks for Adidas campaigning. The genre of rap music is more supple and revolutionary than it was thought and would improve with producers like Dan The Automator. Dan on one hand paid tribute his predecessors and on the other hand established his own style.
