Williams started off in the not-so-funny business of subway sandwiches- by day he owned a subway sandwich shop and by night the local public could catch him yucking it up at the All Jokes Aside Comedy Club. The now defunct comedy club was hosted by comedian Sinbad's brother and taped, a concept that Williams says was way before its time and helped him greatly in getting noticed on the comedy circuits. Entering the comedy industry, according to Williams is much easier than entering the music industry- a comedian has a number of options at his disposal and has a far greater chance of appearing on television.

Though all these odds worked in Williams' favor, it was his burgeoning talent and innate wit that garnered him a lot of attention. The taped episodes of his comedy routines at the Aside got him noticed quickly and soon Williams was hosting a number of events on BET including Comicview and BET Live as well as his own hour long special. Williams also appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, The Tom Joyner Skyshow and also hosted a few episodes of Showtime at the Apollo, which was formerly hosted by the very popular comedian Steve Harvey.

Williams soon found himself among the comic elite- he was featured in P Diddy's HBO special called Bad Boys of Comedy and more notably, he was the opening act for the extremely popular and noteworthy Kings of Comedy Tour. Williams has also appeared and headlined at the Cedric the Entertainer Comedy Revue and was specially chosen to attend the US Comedy Arts Festival.

Oddly enough, Williams who has already broken into the arena of television feels a little apprehensive about breaking the movie barrier. He admits to getting nervous at auditions because he has to follow a script, rather than improvise and do his own thing. However everyone that has seen Williams on stage can testify to the fact that the man is a brilliant on-stage wit and performer- he knows exactly how to tune into the audience and get them laughing, no matter who they are.
