About Dale Watson
Born in Birmingham Alabama, Watson was drawn to music at a very early age and began performing when he was just fourteen years old. Watson did it the hard way, gigging and touring extensively at a number of clubs and small venues before he began to be recognized as a hot new talent. Soon Watson was playing all over the country and eventually all over the world, winning him an enviable international fan following, particularly in Europe.
Watson has been dubbed by many as a honky-tonk purist and the reason isn't very hard to find. Watson has been one of the few voices to vocally express his contempt and disdain for the new breed of slicked up, packed and popped country music that has almost drowned Nashville in its deluge. Watson himself has been a veteran of the country music for almost a quarter of a decade and has seen for himself the ebbs and tides that the genre has bucked and buckled under.
