The members of Candace Lynn met in 1987. The bassist used to listen to his mom's cassette tape constantly as a child. The drummer was influenced by his father's love of music. Candace Lynn started playing at Talent, a local bar. The group used to practice at the drummer's garage.

Candace Lynn realized that they were truly working musicians after the group’s first fan club was started in 1982 by Lizzie Klinger. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the band’s own website by Jen Gasteyer and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
Candace Lynn intends to spend some time apart after the tour, allowing the band members to work on other projects.
