Bromheads Jacket started playing at City, a local club. The bassist first found his love of music by listening to his uncle's music collection. The guitarist used to listen to his uncle's tape constantly as a kid. Bromheads Jacket began playing together while they were in grade school. The Mamas and the Papas heavily influenced the early work of the group.

The years of paying their dues paid off when Bromheads Jacket signed a record deal. The group members were glad to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Bromheads Jacket realized that they were truly working musicians as soon as the band’s first fan club was started by Liz Ernhart in 1990. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Chicago. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
The band has never played a bad show in Tampa, so they make sure to schedule a stop there whenever they tour. Bromheads Jacket realizes that most fans like their older songs, so they use material from past albums and the new record.
