Blind Melon took the ‘90s by storm, with one song, “No Rain”. The song launched the career of five transplant musicians who met in Los Angeles in 1990. The group became known as Blind Melon and their self-titled debut album found rebirth after the bee girl became a hit on MTV.

The group’s style varied widely. With some tracks including a duel-guitar lead and vocals that were more shouted than sang. The heavy metal/classic rock personality of the group shared time with the acoustic hits that emerged from a pop or folk influence. Blind Melon would go on to gain fame with that first album in a time dominated by alternative rock. Their second album, Soup, did not find nearly the success with the experimental 13-track race that featured unconventional musical and lyrical choices. The album did little to sell records or tickets for the band.
Whatever future Blind Melon in the ‘90s, it came to an end when lead singer Shannon Hoon perished in a drug overdoes while the group was on tour to promote Soup on October 21, 1995. The group released Nico as a tribute album to the lead singer with the proceeds going to a non-profit program that was created to aid musicians with addiction problems.
Blind Melon would not officially breakup until 1999 despite not releasing any new material. That changed as the century turned. Blind Melon returned with Christopher Thorn and Roger Stevens both on lead guitar, Brad Stevens on bass, Glen Graham on drums, and a new lead singer in Travis Warren.
The reincarnated Blind Melon will go on tour soon to sell tickets and promote their first new release since 1996. For All My Friends will be released independently and the group will have a tour schedule with concerts beginning in late June and running until October.
The Ticket Specialists will have Blind Melon tickets for all those who want to see the group emerge from the tragedy that ended one of the most popular bands of the ‘90s. Check out the site for complete concert information and find those affordable tickets that have been eluding you all summer.
