About Avant
Avant was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on Q97.9. The members of the group all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Avant accepted that they were truly working musicians in 1981, when the group's first fan club was started by Sharon Slatter. After starting out with a handful of members in Louisville, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
The band may have just completed their newest album, but they are already planning their next move. Avant's newest release has taken the group in a completely different direction, with a bigger sound.
Generally, critics have praised Avant for their ability to connect with the crowd during live shows. A music critic from Washington, D.C., Thomas Lewis, has always commended group’s terrific front man. Avant’s new album is receiving tremendous reviews from all the critics, including Mark Tomaselli from Washington, D.C. and Nathan Boughton from Seattle.
