3 started performing at the local club Deputy. The drummer used to listen to his mother's record constantly as a kid. The lead singer use to listen to tapes constantly as a teenager. The members of 3 met in 1983. The group used to sell their records out of their truck at the local music store.

3 was discovered after their single was heard on B100.9. The groupstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together. 3 were unsure about their music careers with the release of their debut album, and were relieved after their music began climbing the charts ad getting lots of play on the radio.
The band recently completed their latest project, but they are thinking of what is to come next. 3 plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long year.
Critics have generally commended 3 for their playfulness with the audience at live shows.
