On this occasion, Big Ten, Pac 10 Conferences and the Rose Bowl Game joined hands with the former members of the "Bowl Alliance" to form the Bowl Championship Series. The Bowl Alliance along with its predecessor, the Bowl Coalition, organized the championship games from 1992 till 1997. The winning team is awarded the AFCA National Championship Trophy during a post game ceremony. Tostitos sponsored the bowl game for the year 2006. The game was held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on January 8, 2007. It was even broadcasted by FOX television network. The game was between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Florida Gators, which were won by the Florida Gators with the final score of 41-14. Allstate will sponsor the 2008 game. The 2009 game will be sponsored by the FedEx brand, while the 2010 game by the Citi brand, with 2011 returning to the Tostitos brand.
