After struggling for some time, the team's head coach Jeff Lebo has managed to lift the team from the pits and the team has been making steady progress nowadays, with a win over Alabama in the 2006-2007 season. Jeff Lebo was hired as the team's coach in 2004. Jeff with 20 years experience as a NCAA Division I head coach, has nine Southeastern Conference championships under his belt. He is well known as a man who has always succeeded wherever he has coached.

The throne to the Auburn Tigers is the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. This venue is also home to the women's gymnastics team. The Auburn Tigers are associated with numerous players who began their careers as Auburn Tigers and later reached levels of International fame and glory. Chris Barkley (The Round Mound of Rebound) started his career as an Auburn Tiger player and later reached a pivotal height of fame.
