About The Weber State Wildcats
The University's football team participates in the NCAA Division I-AA level. It has won two conference titles in the years 1965 and 1968. Former players of the team include Halvor Hagen, David Hale, Rob Hitchcock, Al Lolotai, Ken McEachern, Pat MacQuistan, Randle Montgomery, Jamie Martin, Paul McQuistan, Bob Pollard and John L. Smith. The Wildcats football team plays its home games at the Stewart Stadium. Currently, Ron McBride is the head coach of the Wildcats. He had joined the team for the 2005 season and previously he was a football head coach in the University of Utah for thirteen years.
The Stewart stadium, the home of the Wildcats football team is a multi-purpose facility with a seating capacity for 17,312 spectators. This arena was inaugurated in the year 1966. The stadium is also home to the University's track & field programs.
