The Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team plays their home games at the Assembly Hall. This dome-shaped facility is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Champaign, Illinois. Along with the University of Illinois men's basketball program, it is also a host to the university's women's basketball program. The arena was inaugurated on March 2, 1963.
Assembly Hall is also the venue for the annual News-Gazette Broadway Series, which features popular musicals such as Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, RENT and Fiddler on the Roof. It has a seating capacity for 16,618 people.
