Los Angeles found in 1781 is the largest city in the state of California. The city and is immediate surroundings lead the world in motion picture, television, video games and recorded music. Los Angeles is a highly visited city with popular landmarks such as Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Tokyo, Disney Concert Hall, Kodak Theater, Griffith Observatory, Getty Center, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood sign, Hollywood Boulevard, Capitol Records Tower, Los Angeles City Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Watts Towers, Staples Center, Dodger Stadium and La Placita Olvera/Olvera Street. The excellent weather in Los Angeles makes for great vacationing and lots of tourism. Average temperatures in the summer months range from over 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer days and overnight lows of 63 degrees Fahrenheit. The average temperature in the winter months range from 57 degrees to 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Tourists who visit Los Angeles not only make time for the popular landmarks but also shop at at least one of the well known shopping areas. About The Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League, the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA, the Los Angeles Riptide of Major League Lacrosse, and the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League. Los Angeles was the home to the 1932 and 1984 Olympic Games. Most recently Los Angeles lost the 2016 Summer Olympic bid to the city of Chicago.

Los Angeles is the home to public universities, private colleges and a community college system. California State University, California State University and University of California are the three public universities located in the city of Los Angeles. University of Southern California (USC) is home of the college bowl game the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is held New Years Day is sunny Pasadena. The Rose Bowl is one of the oldest bowl games around. It has been played at that stadium since 1922 with the exception of 1942 when it moved to Duke University because of security concerns.

Visitors and tourists should be aware of the traffic in Los Angeles. Traffic can and will occur at any time in the city, rush hour times are weekdays 6am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm, but don’t count on those times being the only congested times. Los Angeles ranks as one of the most congested cities in the United States. Residents of Los Angeles are fully aware of the traffic and know what needs to be done in order to get around the traffic conditions.
