Beyonce already ascended to R&B royalty with her marriage to Jay-Z last year, but she is quickly becoming the Queen of Controversy thanks to a few not-so-pleasant stories that have broken in the New Year.

The first that put her at odds with Janet Jackson has Beyonce trying to justify her families close relationship to her business side of life. Now she will have to watch her back or channel Sasha Fierce back stage if Janet Jackson catches up to her. She may have been accurately trying to depict her rise to stardom, but she ended up talking about the elephant in the room that everybody else in her genre ignores.

Yes, the Jackson family was driven by a control-freak father, but do not say anything about it. Acknowledging it is like looking Latoya in the eyes, you never know what will happen.

The second story to break is that Kelly Rowland, Beyonce Knowles’s former group mate from Destiny’s Child, has fired Matthew Knowles as her manager. Wide spread gossip, or actually Bossip, is hinting that the separation may have to do with an effort to sabotage her career by Beyonce’s father in order to ensure her success.

Kelly Rowland seemed to be the clear Robin of the group and hoped to breakout of the sidekick role with a critically-acclaimed album of her own, but has never managed to find her footing in the R&B genre.

She is quickly looking like she will take the path of a different Robin, Robin Givens. I expect a Kelly Rowand talk show anytime soon. The question is will Matthew Knowles try and bury that venture as well?

Whether or not Rowland’s stunted career is actually the fault of the Knowles family patriarch is not known for sure, any allegations are truly guess work at this point. The one thing I am sure of is that Beyonce has been far too busy with her own career to have any malicious involvement in Kelly’s.
