Sometimes it seems like the music world is being swallowed whole by teen sensations or golden oldies trying to make a desperate comeback. Hanna Montana or Miley Cyrus (I am never quite sure which name is right to use) is always threatening to cause a stampede along with fellow Disney artists the Jonas Brothers. I am simply too old to appreciate Lil’ Wayne and I no longer have the pure volume of hormones pumping through my body to stomach Emo.

I am also too young to really be that excited by Fleetwood Mac tickets or AC/DC seats. I remember Billy Joel for starting a fire and not as a piano man. Elton John is playing in Vegas, so I know I am too young to want to see him sing a tribute to Princess Diana.

I want to hear some grunge or even some offshoots like the Foo Fighters or some British bad boys from my day, like Oasis (though Blur is having a reunion). Instead the closest thing I get is Nickelback tickets.

I understand the fascination with those other groups. I guess I am just going to have to wait until my 40s and 50s so that I can claim the ‘90s are the best decade for music ever (I am hearing serious rumblings about the ‘70s being the pinnacle of rock and pop, the end is near).

This decade gave us the Bee Gees as an honest to god musical option!

I guess I have two choices. I can wallow in the slumber of my generation and wait for nostalgia to give me my turn to mock the latest music or I can simply try and enjoy watching Stevie Nicks pretend she still has sex appeal and watch as the Eagles try to not fight publicly.
