The Jonas Brothers are apparently a truly good group. I am not talking about their music. I am not a teenage girl, so my appreciation for those mop tops and PG lyrics is somewhat lacking.
No, the Jonas Brothers are playing a charity show at the Cobo Center during Detroit’s North American International Auto Show. The Jonas Brothers and their super-duper safe Disney “rock” are going to help raise money for the various children charities throughout the Detroit area that the Charity Preview has supported since 1977.
A list of the previous acts for the function includes class acts like Jay Leno, Arethra Franklin, and Celine Dion. They also include questionable choices like Kid Rock. I know he is from Michigan. I know he has dated and been with Pamela Anderson. I know these are all reasons to look up to him, even considering the Hepatitis C.
I also know if there is any other artist that screams white trash more than Kid “Killing Popular Music” Rock I do not know. Luckily, Kid Rock has moved onto infecting Nashville with a new music mesh after bringing Lil’ Wayne on stage during the CMAs.
These Jonas Brothers tickets are perhaps the most appropriate pairing for a children’s charity fundraiser. I for one would be proud to buy them and hold a raffle at the nearest junior high so I could help kids and avoid actually listening to them sing.
