This past weekend tickets for the latest Lil’ Wayne and Taylor Swift tours went on sale. While Lil’ Wayne is not country, despite his appearance at the Country Music Awards, he does have a common bond with Taylor Swift. The connection is not their pop appeal either.

No the bond between these two are the phantoms. Lil’ Wayne has been faking playing guitar on stage on music videos, and probably at home in bed and while waiting in line at Burger King. His great guitar playing, when it is great, is really another artist, such as the Kid Rock’s guitarist at those very CMAs mentioned earlier. His strumming is simply a true phantom.

Equally daunting is the phantom of Taylor Swift. Swift is nearly six-foot tall blonde-haired, blue-eyed vixen at the young age of 19. Her phantom is tied to her looks. She is every marketing department’s dream of a client. Only, if you look at her eyes in all those photos from shoots pasted on teenage boys screen savers and posed stances as she walks up and down the red carpet, she simply looks vacant.

I know girls of a “fuller” figure will say that she simply needs to eat a cheeseburger, but this is not a case of food. Though, it would be hilarious to see Lil’ Wayne doing his guitar hero impression and Swift drifting off at something bright and shiny, she just does not appear to have anything behind those baby blues.

I am sure she can go vogue with the best of the cast of the Hills, but those eyes just make me think she is going to go psycho one day and end up in some miraculous trial, which the marketing gurus will use to drive her greatest hits album to the top of the charts.
